comparison of catalytic activity of heteropoly compounds in the synthesis of bis(indolyl)alkanes.
heteropoly acids (hpa) and their salts have advantages as catalysts which make them both economically and environmentally attractive, strong br?nsted acidity, exhibiting fast reversible multi-electron redox transformations under rather mild conditions, very high solubility in polar solvents, fairly high thermal stability in the solid states, and efficient oxidizing ability, so that they are imp...

For weak acids and bases, these protonation reactions occur in the intermediate pH range. Dealing with monoprotic or diprotic acids and bases, the corresponding binding isoth...
متن کاملSpecificity of Intermolecular Action in Systems including Polyelectrolytes and Ions of Organic Physiologically Active Substances
Thermodynamic analysis of the sorption laws of quaternary ammonium bases with aromatic and aliphatic radicals, of other organic bases and organic acids, and ions of antibiotics in particular, has shown that a combination of electrovalency interaction and weak interaction plays a decisive part in the specificity of interaction. This combination depends both on the polyelectrolyte structure and o...
متن کاملAdsorption of Polyelectrolytes on Mica
‘‘Adsorption of Polyelectrolytes on Mica’’ sounds like a very specific title and it may be difficult to envision, upon first reflection, why mica deserves a separate chapter in the study of adsorption of polymers on solid substrates. What makes mica such a special substrate? What are the driving forces involved in the adsorption of macromolecules on mica? What mechanisms participate in the adso...
متن کاملHighly-metallized phosphonium polyelectrolytes.
The synthesis and characterization of a novel class of highly-metallized, redox-active polyelectrolytes that employ phosphorus as a scaffold for the installation of transition metals is described. Pyrolysis of thin films of the title polyelectrolytes resulted in the production of magnetite crystallites and ill-defined carbon-, phosphorus- and oxygen-rich phases in char yields of nearly 50%.
